Equitable Distribution

“Equitable distribution” is the legal term for division of marital assets and debts. Subject to certain exceptions, marital assets and debts are those assets or debts acquired from the date of marriage to the date of separation. Many of our clients come to us with no idea of the true value of their marital assets, as well as what assets and/or liabilities are subject to equitable distribution. We will conduct a thorough investigation and evaluation of the marital estate and negotiate a reasonable settlement.
