Robert O Baldi retired from the office of Judge of the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas January 1st 2025. Upon retirement, Rob joined Begley, Carlin and Mandio as counsel to the firm to continue serving the legal community as an experienced mediator and arbitrator.
The skill and insight Rob gained from his 15 Years of experience presiding over trials in the Court of Common Pleas can now be leveraged by litigants in a broad range of vigorously contested matters, including personal injury, medical malpractice claims, major commercial disputes, matrimonial disputes, partnership breakups, stockholder disputes, and employment disputes.
The Bucks County Court of Common Pleas is one of the oldest tribunals in the country having been created by an act of parliament in 1722. Bucks County is the fourth largest county in Pennsylvania and the Judges who preside over major trials handle a variety of complex matters. Judge Baldi presided for 15 years on the bench, 10 of which he was the Administrative Judge, head of all civil cases filed in Bucks County. When he was appointed Administrative head of civil litigation, Bucks County had one of the worst docket backlogs in the state. Judge Baldi implemented a series of case management orders which accelerated the trial dates for thousands of cases. His practice of scheduling a pretrial phone conference for every trial on each trial list and then issuing specific pretrial orders led to the elimination of the backlog. Under his leadership the backlog on the docket vanished to the point where the current cases were resolved faster than new cases being initiated.
Prior to being elected to the bench, for more than 25 years he was a trial lawyer, with the law firm he founded, located in New Hope PA. He tried to verdict and in some cases through appeal a wide variety of cases in both state and federal courts, including but not limited to, cases involving death or serious personal injury, medical malpractice claims, civil rights violations, major commercial disputes, employment disputes, claims of defamation and contract disputes.
He returns to his original office in New Hope, adding an arbitration and mediation practice to Begley Carlin’s already diverse legal services.
